On their anniversary every February, The New Yorker revisits their original cover with Eustace Tilley. Since 2008, they also have an annual contest to take on a rendition of their beloved mascot. My rendition appeared in print as well as in an online slide show of the 12 winners curated by the New Yorker’s Art Director.
When I first moved to New York, I walked all around the city letting the “walk-signal-man” tell me what route to go. I kept moving and discovered new streets, corners and places. He is a huge staple of a New Yorker’s life, like The New Yorker publication and their Eustace Tilley.
